Frequently asked questions
Is PDF Editor free?
Yes. PDF Editor is free and does not need an account. To keep the service fast for everyone, each visitor can convert up to 20 documents per hour.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in your web browser, so it works on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iOS.
Is it safe to upload my PDFs?
Uploads use an encrypted HTTPS connection. PDF files you upload are saved on our server after conversion. Do not upload documents you need to keep private.
Which file types are supported?
PDF Editor accepts PDF files.
What is the largest file I can upload?
Each file can be up to 20 MB.
Can I change the text that is already in my PDF?
Yes. Pick Edit text and click a line of text. The original words are removed from the PDF and replaced with what you type. This works for PDFs that contain real text. Scanned pages are pictures, so use White-out and Add text on them instead.
Does White-out really remove the text?
Yes. Text under a white-out box is deleted from the PDF, not just covered, so it cannot be copied or searched afterwards.
Can I sign a PDF with this tool?
Yes. Pick Signature, draw your signature with a mouse, finger or stylus, then click where it should go. You can also upload a picture of your signature with the Image tool.
